The University of Arkansas is committed to ensuring that researchers use safe, ethical practices when engaging in human subjects research (HSR). In accordance with the federal regulations and the institutional policy on human subjects research, the Institutional Review Board (IRB) is responsible for the oversight of all HSR projects. Where IRB approval is required by University policy or federal or state regulation, researchers must obtain approval prior to the inception of the project. Projects cannot be approved retroactively.
